A Recent Move in Lewisham

Recently, we had the pleasure of moving a family of four from their central flat in Lewisham to a bigger house on the outskirts of the city centre. The Dempsey family have lived in Lewisham for ten years now, both of their children were born in the local University Hospital Lewisham and attend school nearby.

The Dempsey’s enjoyed the proximity of their home to the town centre, claiming that it gave them easy access to local amenities, such as Lewisham Shopping Centre which has over 70 stores to explore. The Dempsey’s also liked visiting the local High Street on the weekends where they would stock up on fruit and veg at the daily street market.

But, with their family growing, living in such a small flat was no longer a viable option. So, they gave us a call at Sure Removals and booked our services to help them move into their new, spacious, three-bedroom house on the outskirts of the city centre.

We arrived on a Saturday and helped them finish packing any remaining items, before loading the van and setting off. We drove through Lewisham’s centre, past the historical clock tower than was completed in 1900 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and out towards a more residential area.

The Dempsey’s new house was certainly more spacious than their previous flat and it even had a large garden for the children to enjoy. The Dempsey’s told us how excited they were to live on the outskirts of the town centre, it would be quieter and they were closer to Hilly Fields Park – perfect for a day out with the kids.

Another benefit of their new house was that it was slightly cheaper, as they weren’t as central anymore, and the views from upstairs were incredible. The Dempsey’s were certainly spoilt with panoramic views of the city from their house! We were jealous but, at the end of a long day moving boxes, we were invited to sit and enjoy the view with a nice cup of tea before heading back home.

The Dempsey’s are certainly very pleased to be settled in their new home and they couldn’t have chosen a better time to purchase as house prices in Lewisham have risen 1.48% from March 2017, increasing the value of their property!
